What is it:
This is a personal experimental solution...
As you can see in the photo i'm using screws to achieve the same function. But I thought I'd make a printable solution out of it if someone else likes to test it out. Without having good size screws available....
What it does:
Makes a bearing block somewhat floating / self-aligning and is meant to be used "only" on the guiding bearing block of the Y-axis, and only on the Y-axis (that single block in a triangle setup). Mainly to hopefully avoid/reduce unnessecary bindning of the bearing.
These straps are intended for use with two rubber o-rings and might force you to drill out the holes in a current bearing block to push right size o-rings through. So you might wan't to print out a new bearing block if testing this out.
When applied these straps are meant to force the block against the carriage plate but with a slight ability to rotate horizontally. This is important! You have to find the right size/thickness o-rings for this.
Optional:
Maybe add some nylon washers between the Y-carriage plate and the bearing block if it's an aluminium block to make is slide better. If using a printed PLA block it should slide just fine on the aluminium plate as is.
Have fun tinkering...
Thanks to the user tahustvedt and his nice bearings blocks (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1172838) one of which I used for illustrational purposes.
Also thanks to Dingoboy71 and Jace1969 for bringing up this whole floating bearing deal. Always fun to try out different solutions...
