This bookshelf is composed of 2x2 and 3/4'Plywood. The top shelf will be 2x? glued together to make that shelf. It hangs over 1/4'. I made this design to fit an odd space in my kitchen to hold mostly cookbooks. I will use pocket holes for assembly. I intend to rip my own 2x2, which is actually 1.5 x 1.5 from larger borders, trimming off the rounded edges to square up the corners. This is my first real project in sketchup. I just downloaded it yesterday to design my bookshelf. I am very pleased with the software abilities.
