Want a creative way to display your X-Wing or Attack Wing miniatures when they're not on the tabletop? Consider having your X-Wings fly patrol around your refrigerator or run strike missions around your office white board with these magnetic display stands.
For this model, you will need:
CA glue (Superglue)
6mm x 2mm neodymium magnets (Amazon: http://a.co/8LrogQc)
PVA glue (Elmer's Glue-All)*
Simply use the CA glue to attach the magnets to the holes in the base, then arrange the pegs as you need to.
*If printing in PLA, the joints will loosen over time. This should be fine if your display won't move very much, such as on a white board. If the display moves often, like on the door of a refrigerator, coat the joints in white glue before attaching them together. The glue should be strong enough to hold the miniature in place. The pose can be rearrange simply by twisting the peg, allowing it to be glued again in the desired position.
I'm looking into other joint designs that will be more PLA friendly that doesn't rely so much on material pressure to hold together. I also plan on adding different adaptors.
