This is a personal project to design a bait box I can use when I take worms out of my garden to go fishing. Holes in the top are to allow air to circulate keeping bait from going off. A filter insert is designed to allow the soil to pass through to the lid, leaving worms exposed and easier to grab. I have yet to try out this design, so I included 3 ideas for the filter. Scale needs to be adjusted and design tested out. The box itself should be fitted so it stays together with friction. If it doesn't I may consider either adding strap loops around the outside (with the benefit of being able to secure it to a fishing pack with a carabiner) or redesigning the lid to allow the base to snap into place.
