Workbench you can make for under $100

This is a workbench I've made 3 times, all with really easy variations. You can get the Simpson Strong Ties at Home Depot for less than US$3 a piece. You'll need 8. ALL of the lumber is 2x2's, which end up being about 1.5' x 1.5' x 8 feet. You'll need 5 or 6 of them, get the very best ones you can. Watch out for splits, knots, and general gnarliness. They're about US$3 a piece for kiln dried pine. You're going to need at least one quarter sheet of either MDF or 3/4' plywood for the top. You can double up on it for an extra solid work surface.
