I've been using this work bench for about 5 years. A flaw in the design of the top has revealed itself. I cobbled together a fix in the shop which is working, but I decided to go back and rework the design of the top to eliminate the flaw. This is how I should have constructed it. As designed, any object clamped into the leg vise will push the top laterally. Indeed the entire top can be pushed side to side on the legs. Not good! The new design lowers the bottom edges of the two outside boards down over the legs, making it impossible for the top to be pushed around by the leg vise. The top is less thick; as the previous design I think was over-kill. The height of the legs can be increased to recover the lost height of the bench. The end caps are less thick. The corners of the outside boards have been rounded to match similar design elements in others parts of the table. The deadman slider and its mount block have been re-designed to accommodate changes in the top.
