Woods Haven Bridge ( Connecting Cape Cod to Martha's Vineyard )

Woods Haven Bridge named after Woods Hole and Vineyard Haven stretches across the Vineyard Sound connecting Martha's Vineyard to Falmouth, Cape Cod. The bridge is constructed of re-enforced steel coated in graphite housed in cement. The length of the bridge is about 3 miles long with deck height at 20 feet rising atop an archway at midpoint 145 feet above the water and 288 feet wide clearance at bottom allowing sea craft to pass underneath. The arch pattern was considered more appealing to the eye than other submitted structure designs.
