The two nuts with a spring between them to eliminate the backlash works up until the force needed to push with the mill into the material is equal to the force of the spring. After that, the spring can no longer compensate for the play. Printing a perfect fit T8 nut in Petg might solve that problem. So here it is. (for the 3018 and others from the same family desktop CNCs). If the lead screw isn't going through the nut, try reducing the filament extrusion rate from 1.0 to something like 0.95. If there's too much play, maybe setting filament extrusion rate to 1.01-1.02 might help.
