I designed my own case for the 16bit LED ringlight controlled by a Wemos D1 mini. I added also the possibility to insert a pushbutton for on/off or change color and three holes for an IR receiver.
The input voltage is 5 Volt and the consumtion is max 1A. You can use a normal cellphonecharger or any mobile powerpack for mobiles.
The IR receiver is a saintsmart part, but I soldered the IR out and replaced it with a new one with longer feet (because of the case). Then I turned the shield in the upper case an soldered the pins. Beware of the pin order! Signal(S left) Power (middle) Ground (right). The power pin is on the 3v3 pin of Wemos. Ground to ground and signal to D2.
The button is NO (normally open) and connected to ground and pin D3 of the Wemos.
Just flash the WLED firmware on the Wemos. It's really easy!
Dont't forget to activate the button and the IR in the settings of WLED!
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2021 with this case. I use it as a light that simulates a candle or fire.
Inner diameter of ring: 54mm
Outer diameter: 75mm
The insert of the ring is a little big bigger, so it fits also to slightly different ringlights. The ring is glued with hotglue to the case, also the pushbutton inside.
