An improved and geo-located version of Mark Ager's model of the Esplanade Riel pedestrian bridge. The Esplanade Riel is a pedestrian bridge located in Winnipeg, Manitoba designed by Etienne Gaboury. It spans the Red River connecting downtown Winnipeg with St. Boniface. It is paired with a vehicular bridge, Provencher Bridge. The bridge is unique in that it has a restaurant (Salisbury House) on it, giving patrons an excellent view of the river. The Esplanade Riel has become a landmark and is used in many promotional materials. The bridge itself is a side-spar cable-stayed bridge. Mark Ager of Corbett Cibinel Architects created this model of the side-spar, cable-stayed pedestrian bridge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The bridge was designed by Etienne Gaboury, Engineered by Wardrop. www.corbettcibinel.com #Architecture #Canada #Christmas_Capital_of_Canada #Corbett_Cibinel_Architects #Esplanade_Riel #Greatest_Winter_City_on_Earth #Manitoba #Mark_Ager #Million_dollar_biffy #One_Great_City #Pedestrian_bridge #Red_River #Salisbury_House #side_spar_cable_stayed #Winnipeg
