The vineyards grow at an average elevation of 280 metres, and rigorous selection of the fruit yields a wine made with painstaking care and in very limited amounts. The superb quality of Dal Cero Clanis has been confirmed by the many awards it has won in major international competitions. Klanis Syrah appears a dense, full-bodied purple notable for its clarity and brilliance. The nose immediately releases emphatic, well-ripened fruit, such as dried plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, and blueberry; the bouquet is then further enriched by suggestions of candied fruit, chocolate, vanilla and toasted hazelnut. The palate delivers an emphatic but already perfectlyintegrated suite of tannins, flanked by an equally well-measured acidity and a generous but not excessive alcohol. The lengthy finish is appealingly aromatic.
