The device allows simple access to the working area of the extruder allowing its easy maintenance.
It replaces the original radiator that, according to result of a study on 3dtoday.ru (http://3dtoday.ru/blogs/sim31/facilitated-the-extruder-anet-a6-19-grams-by-removing-unnecessary-deta/) is ineffective, very slightly contributing to cooling of the extruder’s thermo-barrier, but almost completely shutting off airflow into the feeder area, which requires cooling the most.
In operation state the closed wicket leaves free access to the airflow from the fan, creating more comfortable surroundings to the feeding filament. The air is exhausted from the extruder upwards, protecting materials sensitive to cold draft as ABS.
When some maintenance inside the feeder is required, the wicket is opened by one move instead of full disassembly of the node (very uncomfortable due it being mounted under spring suspension).
The closed wicket is fixed by a magnet; its opening is limited up to 120 degrees.
The device assembly includes the following additional parts:
Round magnet 4x1mm – 1 pcs;
Nut M3 -4 pcs;
Screw M3 with cylinder head and internal hex slot:
o 16 mm – 3 pcs;
o 20 mm – 1 pcs
o 35 mm – 3 pcs
In the wicket part, in a hole opposite the magnet stand, an M3 thread is threaded.
