When building my C-Bot printer (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:500041), I had a hard time getting the wheels tight against the rail. To do it properly, you need 3 hands. Sadly, I was born with only two. So I came up with this idea of using a clamp to hold the wheels tight on the rail. This unit provides a flat spot for the clamp to apply the pressure instead of putting the clamps directly on the wheels. It is designed to fit around the wheel, not touching it, and apply the pressure on the spacers around the axle the wheel is on.
I am including the OpenSCAD file if changes need to be made for a particular setup.
WARNING! DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE CLAMP! Applying too much pressure can deform the wheel, bend the axle, or even force the wheel into the slot in the rail. Please don't ask me how I know this will happen.
