Hi,
I have recently bought a trunk for a motorbike (Honda Varadero 125): Chinese brand "Awina", 47 liters, quite solid and good looking. It is equipped with the mounting mechanism similar to GIVI "mono-key". However, a support to mount the trunk (the metal part of a motorcycle) was a little bit tilted to the front, therefore the amount of space for the passenger was reduced and she feels uncomfortable. I obtained a little bit of additional space by shifting the trunk to the back as far as possible (still maintaining solid connection), but I realized, I can reach even more by placing the trunk more horizontally. To do so, I've designed wedge-like plate to be placed between a motorbike support and a mounting plate of the trunk. All together look clean and fit quite well. Hopefully, the pictures show how does it look like and how to mount it.
The complete plate consist of:
a printed big part called "trunk_support.stl" (printing takes around 5 hours on my printer),
the same part, mirroed in your slicer
2 x part called "trunk_support_joint.stl"
4 x M3 screws with cone heads (countersunk screws)
4 x M3 nuts.
The printed plate is touching the rubber on the support of the motorcycle, therefore the friction (when everything is properly connected), prevends shifting. On the opposite side of the plate (which sticks to the original mounting plate of the trunk) the connection is a little bit too slippery and may shift even if tightly mounted. So, to increase friction, I recommend to cover this side by a sticky tape.
Don't try to use PLA - it's a bad choice for outdoor purpose. Use PET-G (as I did) or ABS. Rigidness is not that important, but immunity to high temperature by direct sunlight is really required.
Thats all, enjoy :)
