The water tower is on the Evertsenstraat in IJmuiden (North) and was built in 1915. The water tower has a height of 63 meters. The tower has a capacity of 2500 m³. On the tower is a remarkable clock, it was purchased in 1927 and for 2300 guilde. The complex (water tower, pump and filter house building) is a monument. In February 2009 began the demolition of the water tower complex, involving a total of 55 tons scrap metal and 3000 tonnes of concrete rubble was removed from the site. This site was created for the construction of 16 houses. The water tower itself was not demolished here. The tower itselfs is restored en rebuild into apartment complex andHas now 11 luxurious apartments with a price-range from 270.000 to 870,000 euro.
