Watchtower of Doriath (Early unfinished vesion)

this is a watchtower on the border of the elven realm of Doriath, Doriath is home of king Thingol and was the home temporarily of Beren and Luthien and Turin Turumbar, during the events of the Silmarillion, it is also a key set in the latest book in the Tolkien legendarium, The Children of Hurin, this new book comes with some absolutly beautiful paintings/illustrations by Alan Lee (who also did the concept art for the movies) and it is off one of these paintings (Chapter V, Turin in Doriath, Children of Hurin) which shows Beleg Strongbow (an elf who is friend to Turin) leaving Doriath, a watchtower can be seen in the background, rising above the trees, off that image i based this model, though it is no where near finished, i decided to upload my progress thusfar, simply because i wanted to and because i wanted to raise awareness for the book Children of Hurin to all LOTR fans!. #Book #Christopher #Doriath #Gondolin #Hurin #JRR_Tolkien #Lionhead #Lord_of_the_Rings #LOTR #Melkor #Morgoth #Morwen #Nienor #Silmarillion #The_Children_of_Hurin #The_Hobbit #Thingol #Tolkien #Turin #Turumbar #Unfinished_Tales
