I use this to hold my vx7r radio to my pfd when i go sailing .the radio is held secure in the holder and can be inserted without pushing the button but it is nesacary to push the button to remove the radio from the holster the sliding latch requires the installation of 2 small hardware store acquired springs to stay closed,there is room to connect three springs but this was too much pressure on the button.Just use two springs. The springs connect between a brass bolt 1/8 inch in diameter that passes threw the sliding latch and hook onto two of the three small studs that stick up from the slide near a bolt hole. The main holder body is PEGT the slide is bridge Nylon and the latch was abs . If i have to do it over again I would make the latch nylon too . The hook on the latch over hangs a bit and is hard to print but it can be filled smooth when cool and should still keep the radio locked in place . My pfd is inflatable the back plate is large smooth surface to prevent puncturing the pfd, also having such a large backing plate inside the pfd helps keep the antenna on the radio in close to you so its not hooking ropes and lines and things .
