Rig for VTX/Camera for Bench tests.
When you want to test an FPV receiver you fire up your race drone, and while you are messing up with your settings, you can forget about time, overheat and burn your VTX on the quad. VTX's are designed to be only powered on the move with lot's of air flowing around otherwise they would come with large heat syncs...
This setup uses 30mm fan that ise blowing on VTX while the power is on so it can stay powered for extended periods of time if needed. The enclosure has exit air vent holes around VTX to prevent it from running hot and overheating.
200mw VTX will suffice for this project, getting 600mw will be overkill and will run too hot.
I used 200mw Aomway VTX
Cheap Eachine CCD camera from banggood
Voltage regulator to step down to 5v for the camera since VTX uses 12v and camera 5v
and 30mm fan. -- This VTX does not provide 5V for the camera.
Printed and assembled, device worked as intend I can leave it powered for long periods of time as long as Lipo battery lasts without any issues.
Printed out of PETG at 260c and 80c bed temp.
When printing with PETG ambient temp is required around 75F - 80F Otherwise your prints will warp. Keep the room warm or build a dollar tree foam board enclosure around your print bed.
PETG in my opinion is better than ABS because it does not release toxic fumes and virtually indestructible. I don't do PLA anymore, it's for kids.
