Just a little thing I made to protect the clutch pushrod from chain grime. As often happens with designs like used on the DL1000, Road salt etc gets spit up from the chain onto the polished shaft, this results in corrosion of the shaft. Then when the rod is pushed in to release the clutch, the corroded shaft damages the seal resulting in an oil leak.
This simple little spool looking doodle is secured to the face of the seal via a small bead of RTV silicone, I cleaned the seal face with acetone to get a good stick. After I tested the fit, I took it off to ensure there was no silicone on the shaft, then put it back on to let it cure overnight.
The top has an extra relief in it for the seal face to help keep silicone from the shaft, be sparing with the silicon, very little is needed.
This is for early DL1000, I dont know if it will fit the newer Gen, my bike is a 2006
