This is a replacement for the part that clips into the top of the HTC Vive, covers the cable connections, and provides an anchor point for the top strap.
WARNING: this part is not strong. It may well break during use.
I modeled this for another redditor who broke theirs. I have tested that it clips in successfully, but I haven't tested the strength much. It seems fairly weak, which makes sense, as the headset is supported on a number of 1mm-thick ledges within the clip. I strongly suspect that this part will fatigue and give out during normal use.
You may notice the print quality in the images is poor--I printed it with some old PLA that has absorbed significant water. I need to dry it out before I use it for anything important. As these were throwaway prototypes, I didn't bother with that here.
The curve on the front portion of the cover isn't right--the "corners" of the opening are exposed. Matching curves in Fusion 360 is a pain; I'm still learning to do it. (I'm still learning most things about Fusion 360.) I decided to leave the curves as they are here, because it's primarily a cosmetic defect. In case anyone wants to improve them, I've included the F3D file in the "files" section here.
