Virus spreads while vaccination rate goes up

This person can't get infected because vaccinated (if you think vaccines work) so spread should drop not increase given that the virus has to do bigger daily steps to spread across a person's daily regular movement-radius to reach an unvaccinated person and infect it. So why does coronavirus infection go up while vaccination rate goes up ? This infected person in the example can't infect another person on the other side via passing it onto the near unvaccinated person because the virus will stop spreading once it reaches a vaccinated person. The contrary is true for the other unvaccinated example.
