This is a vinyl record vacuuming device that allows you to clean records using a small "Shop Vac" size hose.
I place two cover plate (label protectors) on the record and then apply cleaning solution using a soft and fine bristled paint brush. Then place the wet side down and turn on the vacuum. Spin by hand 5-6 times then turn off the vacuum. As the vacuum spins down, keep rotating and lift.
Note that even with the adjuster set 'open,' there may be a lot of suction force. I place a clean microfiber cloth between the device and the the record to prevent scratching the record.
The top and base are held together with M3 x 5mm x 5mm knurled brass threaded inserts (cheap on eBay**) melted into the base and M3 screws (also from eBay).
The label protector (print 2) uses the o-rings from a standard "Culligan" brand replacement o-ring pack for their RO/DI filters, model OR-34A, widely available at hardware stores. Note that there are two sizes, but can be interchanged.
** I ordered about a hundred of these from a seller in China a few years back. I cannot locate the same seller, but my inserts have parallel knurling (not twisted). The measure 5mm x 5mm at the thickest points and slightly less than 4mm where there is no knurling. They should be less than $5 for 100 shipped to US.
