Vindicator-class heavy cruiser

The Vindicator-class heavy cruiser was a 600-meter long warship used by the Galactic Empire, manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems. The Vindicator-class was decently armed and well-armored, sporting 25 light turbolasers, 20 light quad turbolasers, 20 point-defense laser cannons, 20 light point-defense ion cannons, and 6 tractor beam projectors. As such, it functions as escort for larger vessels, as well as a light frontline vessel and heavily-armed peacekeeping vessel. Most Vindicators were specifically configured so that they could carry a full TIE starfighter wing and operate independently without the need for support ships. Other configurations (such as this model) could only carry up to two TIE Fighter squadrons. It was most often deployed where Imperial-class Star Destroyers were not available, and where smaller ships were not powerful enough to engage Rebel fleets. It was meant to replace the Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser, as the Empire's primary multi-role vessel. A base model itself, the Vindicator also served as the basis for the Immobilizer 418.
