First off, a major shoutout and thanks to redditors u/Xxx_tinyhippo_xxX and u/turdgargler for their help with my weapon system. I couldn't have completed this project without your support.
This is my 3lb combat robot, Vertigo. Estimated, you should have about 22 spare grams after building the entire robot.
This is meant to be a relatively competitive design, and not one for a beginner builder! I highly suggest building an antweight robot or a beetleweight wedge before working on this project.
You will need:
From Botkits:
2 780RPM drive motors and 1 Scorpion DESC:
From Fingertech Robotics:
2 20A brushless ESC's
2 Fingertech Inrunners
2 150T belts
2 9T pulleys
2 30T drum spinner pulleys (No flanges)
1 Weapon Switch (Preferably, the charger jack type.)
1 Terminal Block pair
1 4mm 0.75" wheel hub pair
1 2.25*0.75" wheel pair.
6-32 1/4" button head screws.
SCE55 5/16" needle roller bearings
From Endbots.com:
22mm gearmotor mounts.
From Ebay/Amazon:
1 receiver: (No link-choose whatever receiver is compatible for your transmitter.)
18/20 gauge wire (For wiring)
Some pieces of foam (Shock insulation)
1300MaH battery (I suggest the Tattu 1300mAh 3S 11.1V 45C RC Lipo Battery)
XT60 to JST adaptor
4-40 1/4" countersunk/button head screws (For securing the weapon shaft)
From SendCutSend(Or CNC/Waterjet/Laser cutting company of your choice)
Vertigo weapon disc (AR500 steel) and Vertigo's wedge (0.06" grade 5 titanium)
Assembly should be straightforward, with each part going to it's corresponding place. Electronics may be a bit of a tight fit, but careful fitting should allow everything to fit within it's assigned spot. Print the bot out of carbon fiber PLA or NylonX...for reference, the chassis without anything on, made out of carbon fiber PLA, weighed about 215 grams. Make sure to print and buy spare parts!.
