WORK IN PROGRESS. I did not model the mask. I modified the HackthePandemic to slice off the filter area and allow for a tube connection port instead. I modelled the Y adapter. (called a Patient Y in ventilator terminology) More parts to come.

This project will develop into a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, UV, equipped with ultra violet C, to function as personal respirator - that actually neutralizes microbial threat.
The idea is that UV-C light will render microbes inert. I will build two small UV chambers. They will sterilize the incoming air and outgoing air, thereby keeping the wearer safe, and those people around the wearer who could be infected by a carrier.
The unit will be powered by 18650 LiOn batteries. The UV C bulbs are AC 110v, and will be stepped up via a small inverter. (yes, a DC-DC BUC up-converter would work as well, but small wattage inverters are dirt cheap)
The business end of the unit will fit around the waist, except for the mask piece on the face and interconnecting tubing. I welcome feedback as the project progresses. Precautions will be made to prevent radiation leakage, (preventing sun burns, cataracts, skin cancer etc). This stuff CAN BE DANGEROUS. Do your research before messing with UV-C.
Next parts to model are the UV boxes that will house the bulbs and have the air in and air out barbs. They will connect to the tubes that leads from mask, to outside air.
Air tight connections and good mask fitment are critical.
