The Razorback was commissioned on 3 April 1944, conducted five combat patrols during World War II, was active curing the Cold War, was converted under the GUPPY program to increase propulsive power, and was decommissioned and transfer to the Turkish Navy on 30 November 1970, and was transferred to the Turkish Navy.
