(1/21/20): newly uploaded files incorporate a two piece design that requires no support with your choice of two bottom sections, one narrow and one wide. The two pieces thread together after printing. Bottom sections are interchangeable. The wide bottom has ridges to catch the gripping rubber pieces that are in many large cup holders, keeping this adapter from coming out accidentally.
Use just the bottom of the wide version with or without the top piece. This makes it less likely that you will spill your beverage as it keeps the rubber pieces inside your car's cup holders from holding too tightly to your normal size travel mugs and paper coffee cups.
Bengal512 (https://www.thingiverse.com/Bengal512/about) cut the top out of one of the large holes to make room for a coffee mug handle, I have incorporated this innovation.
Print in ABS and smooth with acetone for the strongest, longest lasting results.

This adapter precisely fits the 32 and 40 ounce stainless steel Hydro Flask bottles in its major ID. All other sizes* of Hydro Flask (see update notes regarding Klean Kanteen and Contigo) fit in the next smaller step down, also a precise, secure fit.

The bottom remains open such that most paper cups (and the Hydro Flask True Pint) will fit while this adapter remains in your car's standard cup holder.
