It's a 3d printed advent calender!. This project is based of a design on thingiverse by Peter Leppik. When I found this design I decided to ask a couple of 3d printing and designer friends to each design one of more new blocks for the new calender. I did the basic design in fusion 360 and shared the various blank blocks with them to modify and play with. The end result is a new version of the original design made by many people.

All the blocks for the tree are currently available without it's insert, I'll update the new insert/gift for each day. So be sure to check back regularly!
If you want to play along then please share your photos on social media with the hashtag #3dprintadvent.
Day 1 - Fireplace - Shaun Nadan
Day 2 - Mini Spool - Tom Van den Bon
Remixed from thing 2324616
Day 3 - Christmas Rubber Ducky - Andries Smuts
This insert is available in two options, either as a 1 piece print, or in individual pieces if you want to print it in different colors.
Day 4 - Christmas Lollipop - Tom Van den Bon
Print as is, or change filament on the last few layers to create a fun lollipop :)
Day 5 - Christmas Robot - Lelanie Smuts
Print the various parts and put them together. It's robot time!
Day 6 - Christmas Stocking - Candice Howe
Day 7 - Water Bottle Rocket - Andries Smuts
It is suggested to use a brim on this one
Day 8 - Beemo - Rick Treweek
Print at highest res, use 1,75mm filament pieces as arms and legs. When kept in puzzle piece, place base inside, pop beemo in and then use the arms and legs to lock him into the puzzle piece.
When removed, you can hook the filament into the little holes in the arms and legs, then hook them into baseplate. :)
Day 9 - Trumpet - Candice Howe
This one requires support.
Day 10 - Manger - Michael Scholtz
Day 11 - Potjie - Megesh Govender
Day 12 - Christmas Raptor - Gerhardt Breedt
Notes from Gerhardt:
Depending on your printer setup, you might need to set the box and lid infill to 30%.
You can try 10%, my printer or filament didn't bridge everywhere so I tried 20 & 30%.
The Raptor can be printed on it's back(more detail) or sitting flat(gives more lizard skin texture).
The lid "Clip" is 2mm, it is too long and has to be trimmed a bit with a knife to fit well. My printer and my noob skills couldn't get it to work so good. So trimming it a bit helps more than making and printing it the correct size.
Day 13 - Crate of Beer - Andries Smuts
Day 14 - Lego Block - Tom Van den Bon
Day 15 - Severed Foot - Thomas Torr
Day 16 - Mistletoe/Holly - Candice Howe
Day 17 - xmas Poo Emoji - Shaun Nadan
Day 18 - Popsicle (Ice Lolly) - Tom Van den Bon
Day 19 - Jeep - Gerhardt Breedt
Notes from Gerhardt:

The Gift/Jeep can be printed upright, I used supports.
I used ZenziWerken's CNC Jeep, It was originally designed to be cnc'd from wood and glued together.I combined it, re-meshed it and changed the face count so that it could be printed.
For this design I took my STL and rescaled it to the point where it fitted and was still a printable item.
Day 20 - Benchy - P.J Prinsloo
Scaled version of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:763622
Day 21 - Abstract Apple - Mohammed Hassen
Day 22 - xmas Scene - Shaun Nadan
Day 23 - Heart Box - Chris Venter
Day 24 - The Grinch - Shaun Nadan
