I made this filament spool holder adapter for the Ultibots K250 V-Slot (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456659). I found that the spool holder that came with the printer was great for my regular sized Hatchbox spools, but I wanted to use the Octave Green filament to make some other things.
This was also a test to how large the printer would print and this printer did great even on a large print. I have only had the printer put together for about a week and it has done awesome. Still working out a few different things, but its getting close to being perfect.
I dimensioned this based on the full size hatchbox spool. This is a two part design since spools have different inside diameters.
I tested the filament rod on the following filament spools for fitment:
Octave 1kg Spool
3D Solutech 1.1 LBS (0.5KG)
HATCHBOX 0.45kg Spool (1.0 lbs)
M3D
I have a spool of Taulman t-glase Filament and the hole dimension is a lot smaller than the others mentioned above. I will have to make a different Spool Adapter Rod to Taulman filaments.
The Spool Adapter Rod is 1.23 inches on the outside diameter.
The base plate took just over 4 hours to print and the rod was around 2 hours, but there are some settings changes that I could have made to make for a shorter print time.
