This reblooming lacecap hydrangea will flower in early summer, than again later in the season. Unlike other H. serrata, it will produce flowers even if the early summer crop is compromised by harsh weather or untimely pruning. The large, brightly colored flowers are intensely colored and a nice addition to woodland gardens or foundation plantings. H. serrata, or Mountain Hydrangea, is closely related to H. macrophylla (Bigleaf hydrangea) but has better bud hardiness. If your bigleaf hydrangeas struggle overwinter, try this hardier alternative. Like H. macrophylla, the flower color is affected by soil. The flowers will be pink in basic soils, and purple to blue in acidic ones with good aluminum availability. Tuff Stuff hydrangea grows 2-3' tall and wide and is hardy to USDA Zone 5. It will grow in full sun or partial shade. Pruning is not necessary, but it may be trimmed immediately after the early summer bloom. #Endless_Summer #hydrangea #lacecap #mountain_hydrangea #pink #Proven_Winners #rebloomer #reblooming
