At 6 feet long, Troodon was hardly an impressively sized dinosaur. The only distinguishing characteristics it had were it's light build, it's large eyes, and the inner toes that looked very much like those of a related family of dinosaurs. This little animal was a small, slim relative of the infamous raptor family, the dromaeosaurs. While the dromaeosaurs went on to become ferocious hunters, Troodon and it's relatives stayed in the shadows of the dinosaur heyday, preferring smaller, easier prey such as mammals and lizards. one thing that Troodon did have over its raptor cousins was smarts. The brain of Troodon was the size of a peach, at least 40% of it's skull space. This intelligence allowed it to be able to hunt quick moving understory critters in it's range which spread from Canada to Texas.
