This is a tensioner for the y-axis on the TronXY X1. This will also fit any 2040 aluminum extrusion. The goal was to make a very sturdy tensioner that didn't slide or shake while keeping the belt and pulley as rotationally controlled as possible. I borrowed design elements from other tensioners. However, this was modeled from scratch in blender. I left it rather blocky as to keep with the straight lines of the extrusions. I feel that this is a very strong and sturdy tensioner. It uses the same hardware that came with the printer with the exception of the the m5 x 30mm bolt and m5 nut for the actual tension piece and the 3X m3 x 40mm bolts that go through the shaft. Enjoy and leave some comments.
UPDATE: I noticed some rubbing when the belt moves fast. I realized that the center of the idle pulley was not centered vertically on the channel for the extrusion. I have fixed it and will be printing out a test for myself. Just wanted to get this fix out asap. This now includes a compatible knob.
UPDATE: I fixed some of the tolerances. Things fit a bit better now. As well as got rid of the weird curvy part on the bottom. This matches the x-tensioner I have uploaded. So, now they are a set with the same design.
UPDATE 4/19/17: On the side where the wheel of the carriage comes to the end of the extrusion was blocked and reduced the print area. This has been removed per feedback from a maker. The cap has also been adjusted to be more of the proper size.
