EDIT 12/13/2017: .STL files removed as I did not realize the model I used to Remix asked for "No Derivations" under its licensing. Sorry. If that author opens up his files for modification, then I can upload the .STL's again.
If you like the idea of Marbles or Ball Bearings for eyes, check out:

I loved the idea of using marbles or ball bearings for the eyes of creatures. I have uploaded several files for different diameters of eyes. If properly printed, the "eyes" should just snap in. You can test this by just printing an eye socket file and scaling it if needed. to get the marble back out of the test eye socket, I'd suggest drilling a small hole from the under side. If you use marbles, they should allow you to spin the marble to the preferred orientation of the inner swirl for what you like. Please note that not all marbles are perfectly round or even very close in diameter. The model I uploaded for marbles is for 0.625" +/-.005" dia eyes. I suggest measuring them with calipiers or micrometers before you print.
TreeFrog_375_eyes.stl is for 3/8" (0.375) diameter eyes.
TreeFrog_625_eyes.stl is for 5/8" (0.625) diameter eyes.
