I put these over the loop connectors that normally attach to the positive leads of the battery of my RV, then bungee down all the loose wires. These prevent the bare connectors from the loose red wires from contacting with the trailer hitch they are lashed to when the battery is not present (like when I'm putting the camper into or taking it out of the storage lot).
To use these, put the wire into the slot and then pull the connector up inside the protector. Lash or secure the wires just behind the cinched-up protector so it can't jiggle its way off.
For larger battery leads you can scale up the entire mesh in all dimensions at once. Don't scale Y without Z or the 45-degree roof will exceed 45 and require support materials.
