Titahi Bay Transmitter

Titahi Bay Transmitter is an AM transmitter radio mast, transmitting five radio stations including National Radio, the Parliamentary Network, Newstalk ZB, an Iwi radio station and Access Radio. It once housed the most powerful radio transmitter in the southern hemisphere, and in 1979 the old mast was replaced by a 212 meter (696 ft) aerial, which became the tallest man-made mast in New Zealand until the Sky Tower was built in the 1990s.
