Why have a console that plays defense when you can have one that is truly and utterly offensive? The Sword is the newest console that transforms and enriches (not really) your gaming experiences. Remember the Nvidia Shield? The one with a screen built into a controller and had super high-end graphics? Yeah, me either but this product is in direct competition to that.
Q: So really what is it?
A: Just a game clip really.
Q: Why did you make it?
A: Because I was bored.
Q: C'mon!
A: OK. I'm someone who enjoys repurposing old tech and hates seeing perfectly functional tech go to the landfill. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with a extra phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus in my case) and a old wired Xbox 360 controller so I thought I'd make something for all those people out there.
To complete this project you'll need the following items:
A Phone of course
Wired Xbox 360 Controller (Will not work on Wireless version)
OTG Cable (Make sure your phone can support OTG BEFORE printing anything.)
The Sword Main Body
The Sword Bottom clip OR Bottom Clip (Wide)
The Sword Top Clip
The Sword Cable Wrap OR Cable Wrap (Hook)
M6 Scew and Nut (#6 32 x 1in) <----- Cheating. I know.Optional - sticky weather stripping or felt to increase gripping of the phone.Optional - Arc Browser. Not a free app but one of the best darn launchers out there focused on retro gaming.
Notes: If your phone has a rubber-ish case the normal bottom clip should be fine otherwise I recommend using the wider bottom clip. I would also suggest adding some "grippy" material to both the top and bottom clips. The clips with the added weight of the wire wraps should provide a good amount of force to hold the phone in place.
If there's enough interest in this project I may adjust the design for wireless 360 gamepads.
