In 1951, György Ligeti - a contemporary composer, left his birthplace in Târnava-Sânmărtin, Romania, to explore the world. This monument is a giant ticking metronome that kept time with Ligeti's moods and expiriences since he left town and only stopped when he would return for short stays. Since he is buried in Zentralfriedhof, Vienna, this monument will continue to tick forever and ever and ever and ever.
