Leicester City moved here in 2002 after thier old stadium, Filbert Street, became too small, and had very limited expansion room, being in a built up residential area. The stadium is built on a former coal-powered electric power plant which was demolished years before the plans were announced. The ground is only a stones throw away from where they formerly played - Only 200 yards south. In April 2011, 2 large LCD screens were installed in the North-East and South-West corners, hanging from the roof to 'improve matchday experience', paid for by the Thai owners, thus turning the older ones off. They are the first HD screens to be installed in a stadium in the UK. The stadium name was changed when the current owners took over the sponsorship rights in July 2011. The ground was thus rebranded and slightly renovated during the offseason of 2011. Part way through the 2012-13 season, LED advertising boards were installed to boost revenues.
