A version of the Golden Hive (Einraumbeute) adapted to use top bars rather than the classic frames. It also has an additional Warré style quilt box (filled with natural insulation material eg sawdust, hay, clean wool, etc.) for top insulation. The top bars have 6mm dowels and a footer to support the comb. Bees will incorporate dowels of 6mm or less in their comb but build around a larger width dowel - that magic 'bee space' again! Like the Warré hive this version uses a flour paste hessian top cloth to cover the top bars rather than the waxed cloth of the classic Golden Hive. This is to provice an improved condensation buffer for the bees which they control by adding/removing propolis to the top cloth . It has a solid floor with hinged centre section in case emergency access is required. The height allows for a large uninterrupted brood area and a follower boards are used to expand/reduce space as the colony expands or contracts if harvested. #bar #bee #beekeeping #Einraumbeute #Golden #Hive #natural #top
