The Beverly Drive-in Theater, a south Mississippi landmark, was built and opened in 1948 by Herby and Sue Hargroder, who built their family home beneath the main screen. The drive-in is located at the intersection of Hwy 49 and Edwards Street in south Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and remained active for nearly 60 years. The drive-in was most viable during the drive-in era of the 50's and 60's, and remained in operation until around 1987.
