This simple test cube helps to analyze the ringing on your printer. It has six distinct faces with lots of 90° edges to induce high stress on the drive of x and y axis. This also helps to maintain orientation of printing while comparing different samples.
If your printer suffers from ringing, you will see, waves on the surface starting from a corner.
Video series about improving the quality of the y axis (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL557Hi66uxefVlkwxm7DV1uQFBdiuWj-l) (sorry german)

On the top and bottom are small round indents witch will show the hysteresis in the drive. If your printer suffers from tolerances in the positioning, these holes will be deformed to ovals.
If your printer is suffering from random slack the vertical edges will be rough. For further investigation on this use my Slack Test
