The WeatherFlow Tempest weather station can mount to a 'standard 1" pole', which is really 1.25-1.31 inches in diameter. I have a long telescoping pole made of square tubes (1" inside 1-1/4" inside 1-1/2"), and this allows me to mount the Tempest securely on the end using a 3/8" bolt.
I printing this with the open end on the bed. Note that I didn't use supports, or angle the interior "roof", so there is a significant bridge. But since this isn't exposed and the bridge is just the transition from the rectangular piece to the cylinder it doesn't affect the overall design. It would be cleaner to make the "roof" at a 45 degree angle to prevent stringing, but that also reduces the amount of material in the mount. This sits at the top of a nine foot pole, which itself is four feet off the ground, and is exposed to the elements (think "windy"), I wanted it to be as strong as possible. It's probably a bit too strong (thick walls and significant infill), but it doesn't hurt anything :-)
Other things can mount to a 'standard 1" pole", most often lights (think stage lights).
