The Tektronix 576 curve tracer remains a popular workhorse in electronics labs today even though the last one was manufactured in 1990.
Originally, a Polaroid camera with a special fixture was used to take photos of the CRT screen. Remarkably, those Polaroid cameras continued to be used for decades after the invention of the digital camera.
Now, most people snap a picture of the screen using their mobile phone, but the results are disappointing. The photos show artifacts from the room lighting, and even worse, a reflection of the phone and photographer in the screen.
This camera hood hangs on the upper lip of the Tektronix 576 screen and blocks all reflections. The resulting photos from the mobile phone's camera often look better than the photos from the original Polaroid camera.
