So you want better reception on your medium wave radio. A good alternative is a cheap tunable Loop Antenna, like the Tecsun/Grundig/Kaito AN-200. Finally you can listen to propaganda from Cuba, or maybe some obscure Russian station! Bliss!
Optimal placement of the radio vs. the antenna is important. I got fed up off having to constantly orient the radio to get the most out of the antenna. So here is a holder to keep the radio at an optimum position and stay there. I'm using it with my Tecsun PL-880, but should work with any portable MW radio. The holder is exact enough to just snap on to the loop antenna. Strong enough to hold a portable radio.
Why listen to AM radio? If you have to ask, you're a whippersnapper and are up way beyond your bed time.
