TBS MICRO BATTERY CHARGER V2 FAN MOD
Seems quite nice charger but it's 24W without any ventilation holes in the case.
While charging using all 6 channels it's getting really hot to the point that front sticker starts to melt and the casing smells like burnt plastic. The only cooling solution that can be found inside is a thermal conductive pad stick between main DC-DC converter MOSFETs and the bottom part of the case which is plastic.
This modification is a new bottom part of the case with space to install 12V DC brushless fan that cools the PCB by taking air from the bottom and releasing it through ventilation holes placed on the sides.
Fan used 40x40x10mm 12V DC SUNON MF40101V2-1000U-A99.
Solder fan wires to the legs of the capacitor placed at the output of main DC-DC converter, it's always at 12.2V also when using USB-C (buck-boost converter used ;)). I also added 100Ohm resistor in series on fan cable to reduce the fan speed a little bit, 1/4W is sufficient. Please check attached photos for soldering points.
Printed first test version using PLA, PETG was planned as an final material but cooling is so efficient that PLA isn't melting anywhere.
