This is my side mounted Taz5/6 Spool holder. With the spool mounted on the side, the footprint of the Taz is greatly reduced!
Parts required:
ABS or PLA filament for 3D printed holder approx 85 grams
125mm M6 studding (could be 1/4 inch but bore may need opening out)
2 off M6 nuts
1 off M6 washer
1 off M6 penny washer (40mm diameter recommended)
2 off M4 x 12mm/15mm cap head bolts
2 or 3 of M4 T nuts
1 off M4 x 20 cap head bolt (for taz6 filament feeder)
The filament feeder on the taz needs moving in-line with the spool holder as pictured. You can use the existing filament feeder bolt and captive nut, however, to get to the captive nut you need to remove the taz corner brackets.
STEP file included so you can make your own adjustments if required.
When fitting your spool holder, make sure when a spool is mounted that it can't collide with the bed or any objects that may be printed at extreme X axis on the bed!
