The stock Trigger in the Swiffer Bissel Steamboost mop pivots on weak nubs that wear down over time, causing it to become dislodged and no longer function. To remedy this, a roommate drove a screw through theirs, which is a good start, except that the existing thin plastic walls can't handle the strain of being forced against the screw with each pull and will inevitably blow apart. My solution was to model a replacement trigger with the hole already there, so that it will be reinforced when printed.
To make this work, you may need to grind a bit off the back sides (pictured). You'll also want a screw that fits snuggly in the trigger itself so that it doesn't shift and fall out. But the holes you drill in the handle itself should give the screw some room to move slightly forward and backwards, as the trigger will still want to pivot on its corner and the axle hole will rotate around that pivot point.
