Replace the dummy faceplate for a slimline CD/DVD drive on SM servers with this faceplate to give you a USB port on the front to access files, boot recovery volumes, etc. Great for an ESXI box, FreeNAS, pfsense, etc...
Can be handy if you have your server mounted in a difficult place to access the rear.
