A completely overengineered volume control. For full details see all the files available on github. The GitHub also includes an assembly file to show how it all fits together - NB: It's a complex model so can take a while to render in OpenSCAD!
Features:
Planetary gearbox
Pulsing light ring
All non-electronics and non-fixings are 3d printable and designed in OpenSCAD.
EAGLE files provided for the PCBs
BOM:
1x Non-transparent filament (I've used filaprint PLA blue for the pictures shown)
1x Translucent filament (I've used filaprint translucent yellow PETG in the print shown) - use this for the file named "LightRing"
1x printed PCB of the encoder board
1x printer PCB of the LED board
1x Digistump Micro
1x Standard incremental encoder
5x 5mm LEDs (in my case cool white worked well)
16x M3 nuts
6x M3x5 Socket Head Screws
5x M3x12 Socket Head Screws
10x M3x18 Socket Head Screws
5x M3 Nyloc Nuts
Plenty of little wires, some solder and a lot of patience
Builds on the excellent gear library by GregFrost.
