I want to print a stormtrooper suit to go with my EFX helmet, but wasn't happy with the other ones on this site, so decided to make my own.
I went to Star Wars Celebration in 2016 before the launch of Rogue 1 and saw a talk about re-envisioning the troopers. They talked about how they wanted to keep the feeling of the original but more detailed. I liked this idea, so I decided to go for something closer to the Rogue 1 stormtrooper suit. It has some differences, most notably is the detonator on the back.
I'm modelling these by hand so it's a bit slow. I am using a SWBattlefront model to get the scale from, not worrying about 501st. The battlefront models have very little detail, so I use them as a starting point but essentially have to remake it entirely.
As I create the pieces I will upload them here one by one. This is very rough at the moment, so feel free to download parts now or wait and check back to see how it progresses. The screenshot shows my model over the battlefront dummy, the red parts I need to do.
If anybody has any suggestions or comments along the way I'm very open to hearing!
Update 08/12/17: Smoothed the pauldron. Added first draft of Chestplate.
